Coral Flower

Definitely one of my fav colours for spring/summer besides pastels: coral.
Paired this coral pants with a cream shirt and a croppes flower-print cardigan. Unfortunately, my summer shoes had to stay at home since it's still really chilly outside. Soon, my lovely ballet pumps and sandals, soon!

Mex Tex

Hello guys! Here's one of my casual weekend-looks: loose braid, slouchy blouse, destroyed jeans, my comfortable Chelsea boots and of course my fav coral nail polish.
Also wanted to show you my new bag from Mango - just LOVING the mex-tex-print and it's just the perfect size for a day off (you know, when you don't have to carry around a second pair of shoes, your laptop and the rest of your apartment for a change).
Hope you all had a nice weekend! :)

DIY Friendship Bracelets

I prepared a little tutorial for you on how to make your own friendship bracelets.
It's really easy and so much fun to create your own styles and combinations.

You'll need:
embroidery thread
tape
a pair of scissors
Start by cutting several strands of embroidery thread at about 60 cm. Select as many different colours as you want to have in the chevron pattern of your bracelet - make sure there are two sets of each colour!

Combine the strands and tie a knot, leaving at least 7 cm of slack. Tape it to a flat surface. Then seperate the two colour sets and organize the strands mirror-invertedly.

Now pick up the outermost colour on the left side and make a forward knot over the second colour. Pull up and to the right to tighten. Continue until the outermost colour has reached the middle. Knot twice over each colour.

Then pick up the outermost colour in the right side and make a backward knot over each strand - again don't forget to knot twice and continue until you reach the middle.
Tie a backwards knot with the two middle strands to connect the two halves.

Remembering the colour order is important for the first few rows but after the 4th row, the strands will fall nicely in place.

Finish your bracelet with a knot and a braid.

It's really easy, isn't it? And now, braiding friendship bracelets can keep you busy until summer - have fun! :)

Spearmint

Mint and white: what a refreshing combination!
Today one can totally 'smell' spring outside...and I'm so tired of wearing winter clothes already - don't get me wrong, I love my fur boots and chunky knits....but now it's clearly time for a change! I want sun and heat and coconut ice-cream - right now.

Spring Cleaning

It's slowly getting warmer and sunnier outside, yaay! :)
That's why we decided to 'spring-clean' our apartment.
Here's the result and a few decoration-tips and suggestions on how to make your apartment spring-ready:

My vanity
I put my smaller bracelets in a storage jar - this makes it much easier to find the ones you're looking for.

I keep the more delicate earrings (e.g. with feathers) hanging from the edgy of a flower vase. This way they can't get crumpled.

This cute jewelry box with shell-ornaments was an Egyptian souvenir from my boyfriend. I keep my rings in it.

Living room
Again, a storage jar used as decoration, this time on the dining/writing table with an artificial rose and a candle in it.
Also: some nice vernal table mats.

Kitchen
Fresh fruit in a glass bowl with a cute cloth used as basket.

A delicious smelling candle on our mini-dining table in the kitchen.

To make the kitchen a more personal place, we pinned some polaroids and postcards from friends on our fridge - always makes me smile. :)

And a vase with artificial flowers on the windowsill. I love pink roses!

How you decorate your apartment/room - any more ideas for me? I'd be happy to hear from you!! :)

P.S.: My fellow blogger Edyta is (again) having a give-away of some awesome decoration-stuff on her blog Kopfkino. If you also feel like joining it, check it out here.

BlackDenimPastelDetails

Do you also feel like dressing totally in black on some days?
In order to give this dark outfit a more vivid touch, I added these pastel accessories: multi-coloured friendship bracelets (DIY), pastel pink watch and pink/mint nail polish.
I also wanted to show you the linen shopper, which was a gift from WWF. Isn't it cute?? :)
